The American Kennel Club is a "club of clubs" meaning its members are clubs, not individuals. We are a Licensed club which is the first level of membership. One of our club goals is to meet the criteria to become a Member club. AKC is the authority for all things related to AKC dog shows or trials and AKC registration of litters and individuals.
